Pizza Program Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much is pizza?
A: Pizza is $2.25 per slice regardless of how many slices are ordered per child (no volume discount).

Q: What kind of pizza is offered?
A: Cheese pizza is the only option offered. In order to keep the program running efficiently, it is necessary to limit to one option.

Q: Who is the pizza supplier?
A: Our current supplier is "Pizza Pizza". They have an established School Lunch Program that was run successfully at SMPS for April – June 2019.  More details can be found on their website at
https://www.pizzapizza.ca/school-catering/

Q: Can I make changes to my child's order throughout the year and how?  Will I be refunded for a cancelled order?
A:  For the 2019-2020 school year, we are switching to a new ordering system through School Cash Online, and orders are placed by term (17-18 week commitment).  Once an order is placed, refunds will not be provided.  Orders can still be cancelled; however, refunds will not be provided as the funds are being allocated and utilized for school programs/events run by School Council.

Q: What if I’m not sure if my child will enjoy Pizza Pizza each week for lunch?
A: If you’re not sure if your child will enjoy Pizza Pizza on a weekly basis, we would encourage you to try a cheese pizza from Pizza Pizza prior to placing an order.

Q: My child will be away the day of pizza. Can I get a refund?
A: No. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a refund for a missed pizza day, even if it is for a class trip.

Q: Is the pizza nut-free?
A: Yes the pizza is nut-free, as guaranteed by the supplier. Our choice in a supplier is based on following all aspects of the
Board's Food and Beverage Policy.

Q: Is there a gluten-free option?
A: No, unfortunately at this time we cannot provide a gluten-free option. As food safety is an utmost priority and concern of ours, in the interest of maintaining that priority, it was felt best to avoid any chance.
